Dog Boot Camp for Your Dog

Dog Boot Camp - So you feel like you and your dog are slightly out of shape? Have you considered attending a doggy boot camp? It is now safe to say that not all doggy training camps are the same, some just focus on dogs and training their obedience, but a number of camps are pounded around the country that works well with you and your dog. You can get more physically healthy while your dog learns some obedience and burns some calories that tend to come with dogs treating you feeding your dog.

Attending Camp
In California a new concept continues, you and your pet come to the practice / obedience session in the park. This training camp promotes your dog's idea as your training partner. This is a great program for people of all ages and fitness levels, because the instruction will allow you to advance at your own pace.

To follow this practice session your dog must be at least four months old and can understand some basic commands. The details will be different but with the program in California, this team offers one hour training for your dog before the regular classes begin. Your dog also needs basic exercise equipment: rope, training collar, mats and water. You also need some equipment that can include free weights, mats, towels, water and of course your dog!

Do it yourself
If you do not live near one of the doggy boot camp training programs, you can always start your own routine. There does not have to be anything fancy just some basic exercises you can do with your dog to feel fit and feel great. Walking, running, swimming and even cycling is a potentially good exercise routine you can do with your dog, though swimming will definitely breed specifically. For example, you will not be lucky to get the Great Pyrenees into the pool but Labrador will beat you!

Speaking of offspring, it is important for you to realize that not all types of cattle are cut to work as partners, at least not on a heavy scale. Short muzzle varieties will struggle with breathing during heavy activity so if you have a Chinese dog or other small dragon dog, you might want to at least exercise.

Conclusion
Dogs are great friends and most of the time they will be interested in whatever you do. Whether you are hiking inland, swimming in the pool or taking a walk around the neighborhood your dog will greatly enjoy it. Be sure and check with your veterinarian before starting a sudden exercise program, and always remember to keep your dog tied up!
